Meet the Principal

Dr. Lisa West has been the Principal of North Barrington Elementary since the 2021-22 school year. 

Dr. West came to Barrington 220 from Woodland School District 50 where she served as Principal of Woodland Intermediate School, as well as the Principal of Woodland Elementary School. Prior to joining Woodland School District 50, Dr. West worked as a 5th and 6th grade teacher for Glencoe District 35. She holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University. She holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Iowa State University. 

Dr. West was born in Marshalltown, Iowa. She currently lives in Wauconda with her husband and two fur babies named Murray and Finn. Dr. West and her husband love Las Vegas, Michigan State and Iowa State, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and eating BBQ, as well as chips and salsa. They also enjoy watching baseball games with their neighbors who have boys on travel teams. In addition, Dr. West has a huge sweet tooth. She loves to dance and has been known to dance it out in moments when she is trying to work something out or has low energy.
